Yesterday, PCSO Nugent teamed up with the City Council and local PPO, Harvey, to undertake a knife sweep at the bottom of Brakensdale Avenue. The group swept the grassed area off the junction towards the A38, as well as the path from the bridge, up to Sainsbury's on Kingsway. - We're glad to report that we found no sharp objects or weapons, although there was a fair bit of litter, but luckily the council were there to make a report for clean up 😁 .
Later on in the evening, PCSO Nugent was joined by PCSO Charles and PC Bull - they placed our #OPSCEPTRE message throughout the ward to keep people thinking about the dangers of knife crime.
This afternoon, the Safer Neighbourhood team and City Council will be stationed at Mackworth Library from 3pm with information regarding knife crime, how to report, and with the amnesty bin should you or anyone you know have any knives or offensive weapons need to be handed in. The team will also have our Knife Arch - pop down to see how it works! 🫱🏻🫲🏼 👮🏼♀️
(The knives picture below were handed in by the team down at the Lonny. - ✨ REMINDER: charity shops are unable to reuse / resell knives that are donated.)
